The Puritans

The Puritans were god fearing people literally. They thought that God did not die for the salvation of all just a selected few who could interpret his word. They also said that God's mercy couldn't be earned nor dismissed it was basically just pre determined. Through Adam and Eve all people were born sinful and there was nothing they could do about it.
I think that these people lived in fear knowing that at any point in time they could just fall into hell if god felt like it. They thought that the only thing between them and hell was god’s mere hand holding them up. They probably tried to make careful decisions about what they did since they were always making him angrier with everything they did. God did not even won’t to look at these people let alone have them in his house.
These people were born sinners and they followed these so called saints who at some points I think added things to gods word to make there selves look better. They made it hard for the Natives to be there selves and there own native land they set a particular treaty that I thought was very cruel and unfair. I think that these people were very judgmental and they thought that they were superior in means like they thought them knowing god would give them the right to guide others.
After the Puritans got off the Mayflower they were so glad that they made it to their destination safely. They didn’t even realize that their no houses to live in no roads no anything so they relied on god once again to assist them in getting their own civilization started.
They thought that only by the will of god they could succeed.
The Puritans learned as they went along they took things that they didn’t really know and switch it around. To me I think that the Puritans never really knew what they were talking about because they were just making up stuff the whole time. They were so in love with god but the way I look at it they were more say doing devilish things. Like they way they treated the Natives it was ungodly like.
